You can try throwing a large scaled free throw contest on your school and have prizes for the highest percentage shooter. To raise money, have an entry fee for any participant, and for more participants, offer better prizes!
Basketball Tournament
Basketball tournament always draw a large crowd! Instead of having full on 60 minute games, instead have it so that teams compete and the first team to reach 13 points wins. One round elimination will ensure not only that the basketball games will be intense, but also that the games will move along quicker. Typically, first to 13 point games last anywhere from 20-40 minutes. You can raise funds by charging each participating team an entry fee. If this event is successful enough, you can make it an annual event. The more “prestigious” the game, the more likely you’ll have renewed applicants and more new applicants each year.
Student vs Faculty Game
Holding a student vs faculty game usually garners a lot of campus interest. The setup is generally simple as you need to get a group of teachers willing to play. Be sure to advertise this event at least a week in advance so that students have a chance to purchase tickets and block off the date. Once again, most of the proceeds will come from ticket sales.
