Field Goal Contest
This fundraiser is usually pretty successful because its not everyday that people can sign up to try kicking field goals. A few weeks in advance before the event, get people to signup and pay before hand to get a chance to participate in the contest. You can do it “limbo” style by starting out close to the goal posts, and then gradually moving back further and further, eliminating people as they start missing. It is advised you have an automatic ball holder as some kickers may be inexperienced and may potentially kick your finger. Depending on the number of people that come out, you can have either one grand prize or 3 top finishers.
Flag Football Tournament
This is a great event as a lot of people enjoy playing casual football games. If you don’t have flags, you can always make it a two-hand touch tournament, where the defender must touch the ball carrier with two hands in order to end the play. By creating an efficient and organized system of one-round knockouts, this is not only a great, but also a fun event to have. Teams must pay an entry fee in order to participate. If you want this to be a bigger event, you can always publicize this tournament to other nearby schools and school districts. By throwing a successful enough event, you can make it into an annual tournament that people will look forward to year after year.
Eating Contest
The most common food items used for eating contests are usually pancakes or meatballs. Whatever the food items is, you can charge participant a flat fee to see who can eat the most # of (food item), in a specified amount of time. Given that there is an overwhelmingly large number of participants, you can always have multiple rounds of participants. You only have to make sure that you document the number of food items eaten by each participant and then compare them all at the end of the day to see who the grand winner is. Be sure that you account for the cost of food before deciding on the entry fee. You want to generate a profit! Along with individual competitors, you can also have team signups where teams can “battle” against other teams for the most number of food items eaten!
