Written by The Franklin County Red Cross Chapter will host its third annual “Ride for the Red” fundraising bicycle ride on Saturday, Aug. 1 at the Department of Libraries and Archives parking lot on Coffee Tree Road, rain or shine. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. with the ride beginning at 9.
Participants will cycle on a rural scenic route through horse farms toward Versailles for one hour and then turn around and return. Riders who raise at least $50 in sponsorships will get a T-shirt. Snacks and beverages will be provided. There will be children’s activities provided onsite so parents can ride.
